AIR 2.5 is live

Back in March 2010, Adobe announced with Google the development of the Adobe AIR runtime for Android devices. AIR 2.5 enables Flash developers to use their AS3 skills to create, deploy and monetize Android applications, directly on the Android marketplace. Since the applications are running outside the browser, you can run AIR apps even if you’re offline and can access the new APIs introduced in Flash Player 10.1. Adobe released the runtime on the Android marketplace last week. Now you can test the crazy experiments I’ve already published on this blog.

Now jump to labs.adobe.com to sign-up to participate in the AIR for Android prerelease program: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/air2/android/ Download the SDK and learn how to package your AIR for Android applications.

Ryan published a tutorial on how to publish your own AIR app on the Android marketplace: http://blog.digitalbackcountry.com/2010/10/publishing-air-apps-to-the-android-market/

If you publish your own AIR 2.5 apps on the marketplace, please share the link to your app on this blog.
